In season three of the popular series, The Chosen, we see Jesus gather a band of people whom he trains and works with until the moment when he gives his largest discourse. It is in effect the beatitudes that we read and hear today. It is part of the repentance message that we heard from Jesus last week and the beginning of seeing the church as including many people with many gifts. It is also a way of looking at the way we live as Christians in this world.

Dear Parishioners, When I was growing up, we had seasonal projects assigned to us by our parents. We could work indoors or outdoors as long we got the tasks completed in a timely manner. My favorite was raking leaves because I could be outside and have fun jumping into the piles before finally bagging them and getting them ready for removal. It was always a welcome sight to see the jobs finished.

Emmaus Ministry for Grieving Parents (EMFGP) serves the spiritual needs of parents whose children of any age have died by any cause, no matter how long ago.  They offer this service primarily through retreats and virtual gatherings.
