Small groups empower people, invite discussion, and invite you into a deeper relationship with others, yourself, and God. They offer an invitation to be open, and connected, and even give and receive help in practical ways.
We have everything you need to experience this through MQOA!Connect groups are small communities within our parish that gather to support one another. Some of these groups meet only for a short while, and others meet ongoing. Click on the tabs to see the groups meeting and/or forming now, and to email the group host.

Many people let guilt, anger, or self-criticism dominate their lives and negatively affect their relationships. This small group invites participants to healing from a Christian therapy perspective with Dr. Allison Cook’s book Boundaries for the Soul. It includes how to know what to do when you’re feeling overwhelmed, how to welcome God into the troubling parts of your soul, and how to move from doubt and conflict into confidence and peace.
This group is currently full, but another group will be forming in the late spring. Click below to email the host, Christine Williams, for more information and to be added to this list.
Everyone who is baptized receives a new identity as a child of God who is beloved. However, people, circumstances, and sin in our lives can slowly strip us of our sense of self and replace this truth with lies about who we are and how much our lives mean to God. This small group, based on Neal Lozano’s book Unbound: Freedom in Christ, walks participants on a path of deliverance into spiritual wellness.

Explore the history and theology of the Church in the Americas from the lens of Latina/o scholars and activists. Discuss how members of the faithful have fought injustices by appealing to the belief that God’s vision for redemption includes the transformation of every aspect of our lives and the world. The 9 part series is based upon Robert Chad Romero’s Brown Church: Five Centuries of Latina/o Social Justice, Theology, and Identity, and guides participants on a path to more fully understanding theology in action.

Why do we have Mass? What is its purpose? What does the "Real Presence" of Jesus in the Eucharist mean? What is worship? Why should you care? Want to transform your experience of Mass into a deep encounter with Jesus? Bring your questions.

The Church has a long tradition of consecrating people and places to the service of God. One of the most beautiful is dedicating oneself to Jesus through the Blessed Mother, referred to as Marian Consecration. This 33 day prayer course leads you through the lives of four saints and their examples of devotion to Mary, Jesus, and the Church: St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Teresa of Calcutta, and St. John Paul the Great. The course follows lectures and the book by Fr. Michael Gaitley, 33 Days to Morning Glory.
This group is currently full, but other opportunities are coming soon! Email host Kathleen Galvin if you would like to see this group run in the future.

BETA are small groups where everyone is invited to hear, think about, and talk about the Sunday Gospels.
They always start with food, end with prayer, and in between those two, Beta group members learn, listen, share, think, and grow, guided through the upcoming Sunday's Gospel reading.
Beta lesson plans are published weekly, and YOU are invited to check them out and use them for your own growth in knowledge and faith.
If you would like to join an English language Beta group, information about group meeting days and times are available by contacting Christine Williams at cwilliams@mqoa.org.
¡Gracias!
